Digs in
Set a placed fig to dig its own flat spot into the land instead of standing on top.
Use the Ground row on a placed fig’s page to set whether the fig stands on raised land or digs into it. Tap the fig on the Figs tab to open its page.
Ground
- On top: the fig stands on the land as it is beneath it.
- Digs in: the fig carves a flat pad into the land and is set into it. The hillside meets its walls and does not come through its floor.
Drag the fig to a new spot and it carves a new pad there. The old pad is filled in. Remove the fig and its pad is filled in.
How deep
With Digs in on, a How deep row appears:
- Level: flush with the land around it.
- One down: one step into the ground.
- Two down: two steps down.
Where it applies
The row shows for figs standing on the world’s land. Standees, pieces hung on a wall, sheets on the lens, and interior worlds do not have it. On cliff terraces, each building digs its own flat spot.
A dug-in fig carves again when you move it, rotate it, or resize it, so the pad always matches where it stands.
