Most 3D software fights students before they make anything. Ünflat is built the other way: every move lands somewhere good, so a first-time student gets a real result on day one — in art class, engineering, shop, math, or science — and you spend the period teaching, not troubleshooting.

Made for a classroom

  • Accounts without the account headache. With school seats, we provision accounts from your student list. Each student gets a username, types it in, and that’s it — no passwords, no emails, nothing to reset.
  • A community that’s just your class. Class accounts share into a closed box: students see each other’s work, and every submission goes live only when you approve it. The only outside content they see is the featured shelf and the tutorials everyone gets.
  • Runs on the tablets you already have. Lightweight by design, it works fine on a shared tablet cart — iPad or Android.
  • Nothing to break. Shapes snap to a grid, every action undoes freely, and the app never asks a question a student can’t answer by looking at their model. There’s no wrong tap, so no one gets stuck.
  • It teaches itself. The built-in skill tree walks students through real builds step by step — the checklist lights up the exact button each step needs, watches the model, and ticks itself when the step lands. Every challenge ends the same way: now make your version.
  • The whole pipeline, kid-sized. A student who finishes a few builds has quietly run the same pipeline a real studio uses — modeling, texturing, rigging, animation, and rendering — learned in the order that makes each stage feel obvious. They don’t know they just did “the 3D animation workflow”; they only know they made something that moves, and that they could make the next one without help.

Fits more than one class

The five phases (Stack, Nudge, Grow, Color, Animate) quietly touch geometry, spatial reasoning, color, and storytelling. Students can arrange finished Flatlings into shared dioramas, or stand them inside a photo of their own classroom — a project that starts in math and ends in art.

Take the work with you

Every Flatling exports as a .glb — a real 3D file that drops into a game engine or a slideshow — or as a print-ready .stl, sized in actual centimeters for the school 3D printer. The built-in photo studio shoots stills, spinning turnarounds, and video: show-and-tell that leaves the tablet.

Built by people who’ve taught

This isn’t a guess at what classrooms need. One of us taught undergraduate programming courses and tutored K–12 students for years; the other spent seven years at a youth-services nonprofit designing early-childhood education and development frameworks. Together we’ve designed, built, and shipped child-developed apps, where kids were instrumental in design, testing, and feature ideation. Ünflat grew out of both a STEM and an art teaching environment — tested by children, and designed for young and novice tech users from the start.
