Warp it

Pull four corners around anything photographed at an angle and it flattens square, ready to stamp.

Warp it fixes photos taken at an angle. The book cover, the poster on a wall, the tile floor running away from the camera: stamped as-is, all that skew comes along.

Pick Warp it on the photo edit step. It opens already zoomed to whatever you framed in Frame it. Drag the four dots onto the corners of the thing you actually want: the cover, the sign, the single tile. Hold a dot and a magnifying loupe appears over it, showing the frame lines through the glass so you can land it exactly. Pinch to zoom in close. Confirm with Use this photo and Ünflat lifts exactly that region out of the photo and squares it up, as if you’d photographed it dead-on. The Lens slider fixes curvy photos where a wide-angle lens bowed the straight lines.

What it’s for

  • A book or box cover photographed on a table becomes a flat face for your model of it.
  • A poster or painting shot from across the room becomes wall art for a diorama .
  • Fabric, brick, or wood grain at any angle: pull the corners around one clean stretch and take it into the Pattern studio as a tile.

The corners can reach anywhere in the photo, so even strong perspective pulls flat.

Changing your mind

The ← back arrow puts the original, untouched photo back. Warp it never destroys anything; it carves a better view out of it. Patterns made from photos even keep their recipe: an Edit warp chip in the Pattern studio’s Photo popout reopens the workspace with the dots right where you left them, forever.

Warp it works everywhere photos come in: Paint’s photo mode, the Pattern studio’s import, and on photos placed in a pattern sheet .
