Animated skins
Switch a skin to Animated and paint pages that flip one, two, or four times a second.
An animated skin has pages. Each page holds a complete paint job for the whole fig, and playback flips through them. Frame rate sets how fast.
Animated skins are in Skins . Open Skins and change the Motion switch from Still to Animated. Page 2 appears as a copy of Page 1, and the Pages, Frame rate, and Shimmy rows appear under the switch.
The Pages row
The pages are on their own line under the Pages label: Page 1, Page 2, and so on. Tap a page to edit it. With many pages the line scrolls sideways, and + stays in reach at its right edge. + adds a page at the end, as a copy of the page you are on, so you repaint only what changes. Play and ✕ are on the line below. Play flips through the pages on the fig in a loop and reads Stop while playing. In the editor the pages flip only while Play runs. Tap Stop or a page to edit again. ✕ removes the current page. A skin holds up to 6 pages with Plus. Free keeps 2.
Frame rate
Use Frame rate to set how fast the pages flip. It is a dropdown with the same four rates as everything else, Smooth · 24 a second, Choppy · 12 a second, Stop motion · 6 a second and Flip-book · 3 a second, then two slow ones for painted pages, Slow · 2 a second and Slowest · 1 a second. A fig starts on Slow. The rate saves with the fig, one rate for all of its skins, and Play, Showtime, scenes, and the Camera’s loops all follow it. In a scene a skin keeps its own rate whatever the scene’s Frame rate says: its pages are paint, not motion.
Shimmy
The Shimmy row under Frame rate has two buttons: Sideways and Up & down. Each adds a page with every pixel shifted one step over, then plays it, so the paint shifts back and forth. The fig needs some paint first.
Onion skin
While you paint a page in Paint , the page before it shows faintly over the canvas. On page 1 the faint page is the last page, because the loop repeats.
Where it plays
Pages flip in Showtime , in scenes , and in the Camera ‘s loops and videos. They run alongside preset moves (a tail wags while the eyes blink).
What exports
A .glb export includes the current page’s picture only. Game engines do not flip textures on their own. Roblox is the exception: the pages are included in the .lowpoly file and flip in the game.
