Pin to a face

Pin to face puts one region of a photo on the sheet, corner to corner: on all the faces as one piece, or on one face. Use it when sliding the photo under the sheet will not line up.

The flow

1. On the Photo card, tap Pin to face to arm it. Corner pins and edge pins appear on the photo at once.
2. Select what to pin with the switch under the button. All faces (the start) pins the whole sheet as one piece. Single face pins one face alone: it starts on the first face, and a tap on another face moves the pins to it.
3. Drag each corner pin onto a corner of the region you want (the label on a jar).
4. Drag an edge pin and that edge bows, so the region’s sides can curve.
5. Tap Stamp all faces or Stamp the face. The faces take the region, stretched corner to corner.

The pins stay after a stamp, so you can move them and stamp again. Never mind removes the pins without stamping. Arming Pin to face disarms Cut away.

An unstamped photo stays with the fig and returns when you reopen Paint. ✕ on the Photo card closes it.

The pins can go anywhere in the photo, so the region can be slanted. Pinning the four corners of a photographed poster squares it onto the face, as Warp it does for the whole photo.

Stamped pixels are paint at the face’s resolution, so the pinned region pixelates as every stamp does.

Three ways to place a photo

• Slide and stamp: a photo across many faces at once.
• Pin to face: all faces as one piece or one face, one exact region.
• Warp it: fix the whole photo’s perspective before stamping it anywhere.
