Make clothes without building them. Grow a fitted cover, or put a fig on a part.

The Closet page’s Add clothes block holds two ways to make clothes without building them. Whatever it makes is tagged as clothes, assigned to the part that wears it, and checked into the worn outfit.

Add clothes, on the Closet page. Each row names the part in a dropdown.

A cover on

Open the A cover on dropdown and choose the part. A shell is built over it, a copy pushed out past the surface, so it fits. It is named after the part with the word cover added, its kind is Wear, and it is worn on that part. The part underneath keeps its paint and animation. Paint or shape the cover as any other part.

A fig on

Open the A fig on dropdown and choose the part. A picker lists your figs. Select one and it imports as one new part, sized to fit the chosen part, positioned on it, and worn on it. Use Adjust to move or resize it.

The kind comes from the part’s name: head or face gives Hat; a hand, arm, or paw gives Hold; anything else gives Extra. Change the kind on the piece’s line in the Closet, or on the part’s Kind row in Add › Details.

Tap it on the fig

Both dropdowns end with Tap it on the fig…. Choose it, then tap the part on the fig instead of naming it. The page shows that a tap is armed, with Stop to cancel. A tap on a piece of clothes counts as the part under it.

Save as clothes any fig can use

A piece’s open line in the Closet holds Save as clothes any fig can use; so does the part’s Clothes group in Add › Details once Clothes is Yes. The piece is saved to your figs as its own fig, ready to add to any fig through A fig on. The part’s More group holds Save as a part. See Parts .

The Closet stores what is worn per outfit, so a grown jacket and a hat from another fig can be in different outfits of the same fig.
