Your first clip
Frame a shot, press Cut!, and repeat to build a strip of cuts.
A clip is a strip of cuts. Each cut stores one moment of the scene: the camera, the pose and place of every fig, and the light. Playback holds each cut in turn for its length. Clip is on the Camera tab beside Photo, Loop, and Video.
Shooting
In a scene, open the Camera tab and select Clip. The hint reads Frame the shot, then capture.
- Frame the shot: rotate the camera, pose figs, change anything.
- Press Cut!. The moment is added to the strip, and its page opens in the window under the last cut’s picture and N cuts so far: Move, the Doing, Talking, and Then rows when the cut has figs for them, + Sound, + Story, Hold, then Re-cut, Duplicate, and Delete. Phones show the same page.
- Change something and press Cut! again.
After the first cut, the hint reads Moves reset between cuts. Pose a part to hold it. It shows once on each device.
- Take back the last cut removes the newest cut.
- Ghost shows a faint copy of the selected cut over the frame while you pose the next one. It does not appear in anything you save.
The strip
The strip is a band of numbered thumbnails under the frame. Tap a thumbnail to return the scene to that cut. Tap + at the end of the band to cut. Play plays the strip from the selected cut. Tap anywhere to stop. A new cut is added after the selected cut, so a cut can be added in the middle of a strip.
The clip is named after its scene, with “clip” added, and belongs to that scene. Open the scene and select Clip to load the strip. A clip plays in the look it was shot in. If the look changes partway through the strip, the hint says so.
Holds
Each cut holds for the length its Hold chip shows. Tap the chip to step through ½s, 1s, 2s, 3s, and 4s. A new cut starts with the hold of the cut before it. When the clip has music with a tempo , holds count beats instead: 1, 2, 4, or 8.
Editing the strip
- The selected cut’s page in the Camera window holds its chips, Hold, + Sound, and + Story, its camera move , and Re-cut, Duplicate, and Delete.
- Clip organizer changes every cut at once. See Clip organizer .
Every cut is a full copy of the scene, each fig’s route included. Changing a route later does not change the cuts already shot. Tap a cut, fix the pose, and press Re-cut.
The free plan holds two clips you made. Saved clips are on the Your clips shelf at the top of the Clips tab and at the bottom of the Scenes tab. See The Clips tab .
