Words in a clip
Add bubbles, a caption, or a title to a cut, and set how each shows.
+ Story on a cut’s page adds words to that cut: bubbles, a caption, or a title. Words belong to the clip, not the scene.
Adding words
Tap + Story to open the Story face. Add a piece with + Bubble, + Caption, or + Title, then type the line, up to 160 characters. The words show on the frame as you type. Once a cut has words, its chip shows the first line and +N for the rest.
A cut can hold several pieces. The list runs top to bottom in the order they show. ▲ and ▼ move a piece, and ✕ removes it. During the hold the pieces show one after another: the hold is split evenly and each piece shows in its slot. Captions and titles stay on screen once shown. Only the newest bubble shows. A caption is words on the screen. The voice you record over the clip is + Narration on Clip organizer. See Sound in a clip .
The rows
- Style (bubble): Game, Manga, Thought, or Shout. Game is a text box. The other three are drawn bubbles with a tail.
- Tail (Manga, Thought, Shout): Left or Right.
- Who: a name up to 16 characters. On a Game bubble it shows on the box. On a caption it is optional.
- Place (bubble): drag the ring on the frame to position the bubble.
- Size (title): Small, Normal, or Big.
- Shows: Typewriter types the line out. All at once shows the whole line.
- Font: a dropdown. Classic is the default. 25 more fonts follow.
- Color: a swatch, or Classic.
- Back: a swatch behind the words, Classic, or None.
Words are drawn into video and GIF exports and are kept in shared clips.
