Out
Pull the selected faces outward. Ears, legs, anything that sticks out.
Out pushes the selected faces one step outward, along the way each face is facing. Press again to go further. Anything that sticks out of a model, like ears, legs, and chimneys, comes from Out.
The Small / Med / Big switch sets the step, and every press is exactly one step, so growth is easy to count and easy to undo. On the Grow card the action is called Grow out:
Out on sheets and spheres
- A flat sheet (a Plane or a drawn shape) grows into a proper watertight solid. Out is what gives a sheet its thickness.
- On a curved surface each face grows along its own direction, so a patch on a sphere fans outward naturally.
Out un-digs
If your selection is the floor of a pocket that In carved, Out raises that floor back up one step per press. When the floor reaches the surface, the pocket fills itself back in flush, as if it was never cut. In and Out really are opposites.
If any part of the growth would leave the world, the whole press is refused: “No room. You’re at the edge of the world.”
