Pull out

Pull selected faces outward, or draw a shape and pull it out of the surface.

Pull out moves faces one step outward in the direction each face points. Its first row sets what it works on: Tap faces or Draw a shape. Pull out is the first tool under Surface in the Build tab.

Tap faces

Select faces, then tap Pull out. Use the Size row (Small, Medium, or Big) to set the increment size for each tap. The modified faces remain selected, allowing successive taps to pull them out one step at a time. If Mirror is active, the corresponding faces on the opposite side are pulled out simultaneously.

Applying it to a flat sheet (such as a plane or flat drawn shape) turns it into a closed solid. This is how a flat sheet gets thickness. On curved surfaces, each face moves along its own outward direction. For example, a selected patch on a sphere spreads outward as it expands.

If the selection is the floor of a cavity created by Push in , Pull out will raise that floor one step per tap. Once the floor reaches the original surface level, the cavity seals flush.

Draw a shape

Switch to Draw a shape and tap a face. A grid of dots appears on it. Tap dot to dot to trace an outline (a heart, a doorway), and tap the first dot again to close the loop. While you trace, ↩ Undo dot removes the last dot and ✕ Start over clears the trace. Tap a different face and the trace starts over there.

When the loop closes, set a Height with the and + buttons, then tap Pull it out. The shape rises off the surface as part of the same piece.

The drawing rules: lines cannot cross. On a flat face the outline may touch the face’s edge in one continuous stretch. A face with no room for dots is refused. On curved surfaces (barrels, spheres, donut tubes) the dots follow the curve at half-block spacing, the finished shape follows the surface, and the outline stays inside the surface. With Mirror on, the same shape is drawn and pulled on the other side of a flat face; curved surfaces do not mirror.

Limits

If a pull would move the piece beyond the boundaries of the workspace, the action is blocked and a warning notification (No room: you’re at the edge of the world) will appear. A pull stops at the fig’s own body: it never passes through another part of the piece. Pull out works on figs whose parts overlap on purpose; a pull that reaches another part’s face stops flush against it. When a pull is refused, the reason shows in the status bar and as a toast.
