Triggers
When does it play? All the time, once when tapped, or open-and-close.
Triggers answer the card’s question, “When does it play?” Every animated part has one:
- 🔁 Loop: moves all the time. Idle wags, spinning propellers.
- 👆 Once: waits until it’s tapped in Preview , plays its poses through once, and comes back to rest. Waves, jumps, nods.
- 🚪 Open: tap to play forward and hold the last pose; tap again to play back. Doors, lids, mouths.
The three triggers are a switch in the Playback view of the Animate card, under the speed switch:

The part itself is the button: in Preview, tapping the door plays the door. A part that rides another joins in when its parent is tapped, so tapping the body makes the whole rig perform.
Triggers carry beyond Preview: they work the same when the Flatling stands in a diorama , and they’re baked into a .glb as ordinary animation clips.
