Animate Animate phase

Attach

Make one part ride another. Arms on bodies, hats on heads, rigs that move as one.

Attach links parts into a rig. With the part that should carry selected (the body, the arm), press 🔗 Attach a part, then tap the part that should ride it (the hat, the hand). The rider now follows every move its carrier makes. Attach is the fourth action on the Animate card:

🔗 Attach a part
An attached part rides this one, and can still pose on its own.
Arm the button, then tap the part that rides.

Riders keep their own moves

A rider stays independently animatable: its own poses play on top of the ride. A forearm attached to a swinging arm hinges at the elbow while the whole arm swings from the shoulder. The rider’s anchor is set automatically to the spot where you tapped it, the joint where the two parts meet.

Chains work too: hand rides forearm rides arm rides body. In Preview , tapping a part fires its trigger and its riders’: tap the body and the whole character performs.

Detaching

Press the button again while it’s armed and tap the same rider, or select the rider and press 🔗 Rides … · detach. The part keeps its own animation and simply moves alone again.

Attach is also the answer to “how do I glue pieces together?” Pieces never merge in Ünflat, but an attached piece moves as one with its carrier, which is the part of gluing you actually wanted.
