The low-poly rig
Rigid parts, one pivot each, and a bend only where you mark one.
Parts are rigid. A part swings as one piece from its pivot, and bends only where you mark a bend area.
Every moving part is its own piece
Build anything that should move as its own piece (arms separate from the body). Build the fig part by part in the Add tab. Pieces never merge.
One pivot per piece
Pieces join with Attach : the attached part moves with the part that carries it. Each piece has:
- a pivot , the point it swings and turns around. The app sets it where the piece touches its neighbor. To move it, open Animate › Rig, tap the part’s line, and tap Move the pivot.
- its pose sliders : Lift, Slide, Turn, Swing, Bend, and Size.
Attached parts chain. Turn the body and everything attached to it turns too, and each part keeps its own move.
Bend areas
Mark a bend area on a part (a tail, an antenna) and it curls instead of hinging. Bend area is in the part’s line on Rig.
The Start from a base shelf holds figs built this way. Open one, then open the Animate tab and tap Rig to view its parts, their roles, and what each is attached to. See Start from a base .
