Anchor
Tap where the part is bolted on. Every swing and turn pivots around it.
Anchor sets a part’s hinge. A door doesn’t spin around its middle; it swings on its hinges. Press 📍 Set anchor, then tap the spot on the part where it’s bolted to the rest of the model. A small dot marks it while you pose. Anchor is the first action on the Animate card:
The anchor gives the pose steppers their meaning:
- Turn spins the part around the upright line through the anchor: doors, heads, propellers.
- Swing hinges it over sideways from the anchor: lids, wings, waving arms.
- Slide pushes the part along its anchor line: drawers, pistons, tongues.
Without an anchor set, a part pivots around its base, which is often fine for a whole-body bounce. The moment something should hinge at a place (a jaw at its corner, a tail at its root), give it an anchor there.
Set the anchor before saving poses. The poses you already saved keep their movement, so changing the hinge afterward changes how they play.
