Tilt

Tilt rotates the selected ring. Each press raises one side and lowers the opposite side, pivoting from the center point. Its Which way row offers two directions that follow the orientation of the ring (for example, a flat ring tilts toward Side or Front). The Tilt left and Tilt right buttons are on the Steps card on the left side of the canvas. Tilt takes rings only. It is the second tool under Position in the Adjust tab.

The direction you select in Which way stays selected when you select another ring, as long as that ring offers it. When the ring is the rim of a flat end (the end of a tube, the top of a box), the whole end tilts with it and stays flat.

Adjustments are step-based rather than degree-based. Use the Small, Medium, or Big switch on the Steps card to set the increment size for each press. Presses are cumulative, and a press the other way reverses the previous step. If no ring is selected, the tool says Tap a line on your fig to select a ring, then Tilt.

Bending

To bend a section of a piece, hold multiple rings with Grab , then apply Tilt. All selected rings rotate together, pivoting from the lowest selected ring. On a tube that runs along Side or Front, the pivot is the held ring nearest the middle of the part, so the free end moves. The pivot stays the same for as long as the same rings are held. The rings must belong to one part and face the same way.

For a curved spout from a cylinder: add rings where the bend goes with Cut , hold the rings past the bend with Grab, and tilt them together. Then select the last ring alone, tilt it further, and use Move to place it.

Limits

A tilted ring remains a valid, selectable ring for future adjustments. The tool prevents a piece from intersecting itself. If a tilt adjustment would cause the surface to fold or invert, the action is blocked.
