Adjust Adjust phase

Faces, rings and corners

Every Adjust tool works on faces, rings, or corners. The Pick row sets which.

The Adjust tab reshapes a piece by moving parts of its surface. Each tool’s window opens with a Pick row: Faces, Rings, or Corners. Only the active target shows on the fig, and each target keeps its own selection. Changing the row never clears anything.

The Steps card

Move, Tilt, and Resize are applied from the Steps card on the left side of the canvas. The deck arms what and which way; the card holds the two buttons, and their labels follow: Left and Right for Side, Back and Forward for Front, Down and Up for Up, In and Out for Out, Smaller and Bigger, Thinner and Wider, Closer and Farther, and Tilt left and Tilt right.

Under the buttons, Small, Medium, or Big sets how far one press goes. Hold a button to keep going. The line under the buttons counts the presses that changed the fig (3 steps right); a refused press is not a step. Tap to fold the card into its Steps tab. It shows as the tab while nothing is selected and opens with the next selection. Pinch has its own button on the deck. The same card moves a part in steps on the Add tab’s Details page.

Faces

A face is one flat square of the surface. Tap a face to select its group, drag to sweep more, tap a highlighted face to deselect it. The Select bar adds Tap or Brush, Piece, All, and None. Selected faces show tinted.

Rings

A ring is a continuous loop of edges around a piece. In the Rings target the fig shows its ring lines. Tap a line to select that ring; a plain tap always selects one ring and deselects the rest. The selected ring is highlighted.

To hold several rings at once, turn on Grab on the Select bar: then every line you tap adds its ring, and a tap on a selected ring deselects it. Next ▼ and Next ▲ move the selection to the next ring down or up. Let go deselects them all. See Grab & Let go .

The ring nearest the tap is selected, measured to the lines you can see from where you are viewing. A line can belong to a ring around the piece and to the outline of one flat side; the ring around the piece is selected. A tap on a line at the outer edge of a piece selects that piece’s ring, not a ring of the piece behind it. Which way does not change which ring a tap selects.

A tilted or modified ring remains a valid, selectable ring. Flat sheets do not have rings.

Corners

A corner is a single point where edges meet. In the Corners target the fig shows its corner dots. A dot shows only for a corner you can see from where you are viewing, and the dots shrink as you zoom out, so corners that are close together (a bevel) stay separate. Zoom in to select one of them. A selected corner turns coral. Tap a dot to select it, and tap it again to deselect it. The Select bar offers Piece (every corner of the last touched piece), All, and None.

Which target a tool takes

Each tool opens on the active target. If it has nothing selected there, it opens on another target that does.

Selected faces stay selected between Build, Adjust and Color, and the highlight changes to the color of the tab you are in. Rings and corners are deselected when you leave Adjust. Opening Add or Animate deselects everything.
