Roblox: make a hat
Build any Flatling, export it as a .lowpoly accessory, and see it on an avatar in Roblox Studio. Completely free.
Video coming soon — the written walkthrough below is the whole build.
Written walkthrough
A hat is the friendliest accessory: one piece, sits on a head, done. You need a computer with Roblox Studio (free) and the Ünflat plugin installed. No Robux anywhere in this walkthrough.
1. Build the hat
Make it like any Flatling: stamp, carve, paint. Two habits make a good accessory. Keep it one piece (a hat that is three loose chunks warns at export, and the Marketplace wants a single mesh). And keep it watertight: no see-through holes into the inside.
2. Export the .lowpoly
↗ Share & Export, tap Roblox, and find the 🎩 Avatar accessory section. Pick Hat and the body scale you’re aiming for (Classic for blocky avatars). The export is already sized to sit right on a head, and tapping 📏 Check the size shows your hat on a Roblox mannequin with a slider to make it bigger or smaller. The size you pick is the size that exports. Then Download .lowpoly and get the file to your computer.
3. Build it with the plugin
In Studio, open any place. Plugins tab, the Ünflat button, then 📦 Build a model… and pick your .lowpoly file. The hat appears in the workspace with its colors already on, wrapped as an accessory for the slot you picked.
4. Snap it on with the Fitting Tool
Open the Accessory Fitting Tool (Avatar tab), select your hat, and preview it on a test body. The tool places the attachment point for you, so never add one yourself. Nudge the fit until it sits right, then generate the accessory. Spin the camera: that’s your hat, on a head.
This whole road is free because everything stayed inside Studio. Want your real avatar to wear it everywhere? That’s the upload walkthrough, and it has a price tag on the door.
