Crash notes
A switch, off by default, that tells us where the app broke.
The Settings window’s Help tab has a check row, Send crash notes. The note under it reads: Send crash reports to help find app errors. Personal data, projects, and device IDs are not collected. It is off until you tick it.
With it on, when the app breaks it sends a short note: the app version, the screen you were on, the name of the error, and the time. It never sends the error’s message, so nothing you typed is sent. It sends no account, no creations, and nothing about your device. With it off, nothing is sent.
Report a bug
The same tab has Report a bug, which opens the bug report sheet. The sheet also opens from Report a bug… in the Help menu on the home screen and in both editors, and the Report a bug button on the You row at the bottom of your inbox .
The sheet asks Describe the issue and expected behavior. Type it and tap Send. The report includes some context: the screen you were on, the fig’s name, and any recent errors. No pictures, no account details. Copy report puts the same text on the clipboard instead.
Signed in, the report becomes a ticket. Your inbox shows Report received: with your first words, and when we answer, An answer to your report arrives with the answer as the mail. Not signed in, the report is still sent by mail, and the message says Sent.
