Build a tree
A trunk, a crown sunk on with Overlap, and a canopy shaped by rings.
Video coming soon — the written walkthrough below is the whole build.
Written walkthrough
The tree teaches the Overlap trick: some things shouldn’t sit on each other; they should sink into each other.
1. Stamp the trunk
A Cylinder, tall and thin with the steppers, on open floor.
2. Sink the crown onto it
Flip the contact switch from Touch to Overlap, pick a big Sphere, and tap the top of the trunk. With Overlap on, the ghost is allowed to sink, so the crown swallows the trunk’s top the way a real canopy does, instead of balancing on it like a lollipop. Stamp.
3. Slice and shape the canopy
A perfect sphere reads as a ball, not foliage. In Nudge, Slice an Across belt through the crown, then work the rings: Wider on the lower ring, Thinner near the top: a canopy that’s full at the bottom and tapers up. One slice and three presses is usually plenty.
4. Color it
Fill the trunk brown and the crown green, then open Paint on the crown and dot in apples, blossoms, or autumn patches.
An orchard is this build three times at three sizes, or once, plus Duplicate on the passport .
